How internet entertains Julia...
Finding something of adequate quality in YouTube is a struggle. Yeah sure there bound to be interesting videos but you need to be awfully lucky or patient. Anyway, I will just start my so far crappy Wednesday with a wacky Bollywood's interpretation of Michael Jackson's classic: Thriller.

AR is everywhere!
Augmented reality has been rising its popularity in the industry, some have grand executions, some left much to be desired. However, it is now branching towards the world of music video. Digital Agency Devilfish created an interactive music promo for musician Julian Peretta's track ‘Ride My Star'. It is pretty neat and cool, just check out the demo.

Blaming Ringo Starr
Blame Ringo, the up-and-coming Australia band, has one of the most unique background story. The story is that it is a band on a unique mission. They are using the power of song to blame Ringo Starr… for everything.
Quoting directly from the band's MySpace page: Originally billed as “Goodnight Vienna”, the band had to change its name in late 2007 after being threatened with legal action by a “Richard Starkey Jr”. Apparently "Goodnight Vienna" was the name of Ringo’s fourth studio album and although he “thoroughly enjoyed the music” he was “obligated to dissuade any profiteering which resulted from the use of his intellectual property.” What a bastard. After a spiteful name change (and a lot of muckraking) the new and improved “Blame Ringo” are set to have their revenge by seeking to expose the man who lays claim to inventing the ‘peace’ sign.
I am not really sure whether the story is valid (good ice breaker that is for sure), however I adore their "Garble Arch" video clip that narrates a day in the life of Abbey Road! It is pretty cheesy but I supposed that I would also try to re-enact the famous Beatles' stride if I am around the area :-P

Mood changing music
Busy with many changes in my life (hopeful for a permanent job and looking for a new ideal apartment to share with the guys), often, I am left drained and cranky. To combat my crankiness, or my negative thundercloud as my friend once dubbed it, I have been trying to alter my mood via auditory sensor. And they are good alternative! It rivals the effectiveness of chocolates or shopping in lifting my mood, without the after regret of being broke or worrying over my waist. These singles make me feel like moving my body (which is good, blood circulations and all that stuff) so here I am sharing it with you lot. Hopefully you will feel cheerful after listening to them.
1..2..3..4 by Feist: this Canadian songstress is all about folksy and making me feel like skipping through the air.
Young Folks by Peter Bjorn and John: you simply want to whistle along with them or in my case just humming along.
The Salmon Dance by The Chemical Brothers: apart from the super cute clip, the need to jiggle your bum to complete the beats is irresistible. Credits to Yurie-san for introducing The Salmon Dance as our background music during the 'blowing bubble' competition.
PS: Many thanks to Da Fonz for gifting me a new MP3 player to replace my broken iPod. Now, I can 'joget' and do a sing along in my train commute to work.
